About ERA Europe
The only organization exclusively representing the interests of all Television, Radio, Internet e-retailers and associated services in the European Markets.
ERA EUROPE is a not-for-profit organization, affiliate of ERA, and was incorporated in Brussels, Belgium, under specific ERA Europe Statutes in August 2004.
Members of ERA EUROPE are companies established on the European Continent – EU member states and other European countries. Companies established in the Middle East are also part of ERA EUROPE territory. This affiliation and European incorporation reinforce ERA’s position as the “global electronic retailing industry’s representative organization”. It gives ERA the proper structure and leadership to address the specific needs and issues of European companies and of US & International companies operating in Europe.
ERA EUROPE is working at promoting Consumer Confidence and improving the public perception of Direct Response Electronic Retailing, in European Institutions as well as in specific national markets. The Board and Board Committees launched in 2004-2005 a 4 year action plan aiming at promoting the interests of the industry in the Institutional and Regulatory circles in Europe, while improving the business networking opportunities and relations among members within Europe, and with the US and other parts of the world.
To better serve the interests of the industry and association members in the most active European market, the UK, ERA EUROPE signed in June 2005 an affiliate agreement with the BTSA -British Television Shopping Association, renamed ERA UK, a chapter of ERA EUROPE.
This affiliate is now owned by ERA EUROPE, and all member companies based in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland are also automatically members of ERA EUROPE and ERA UK, in a single and unified membership.
